The Doctor Who Christmas special and Capaldi’s final episode has wrapped production and has been described as a “fanboys dream”.
The Christmas special of Doctor Who, which sees Peter Capaldi bow out as the twelfth doctor has wrapped production, ready for it’s December 25th debut.
Tentatively titled “The Doctors”, the special will see Capaldi’s twelfth doctor team up with the first doctor, played by David Bradley, and will include Capaldi’s regeneration, a regeneration show-runner Steven Moffat promises will be “unlike any regeneration before it”.
The special will be directed by filmmaker and director Rachel Talalay, whose recent credits include the two part finale of series 10 of Doctor Who, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Sherlock as well as another slew of TV shows and movies.
In an interview with TV and Satellite Weekly, Talalay said “It’s a tour de force. It’s a fanboy’s dream, it’s also a beautiful and joyous script.”
The Christmas special and Capaldi’s swan song airs on BBC 1 on December 25th, also airing in the US on BBC America.
