Update or Install Kodi on Amazon Fire Stick/TV – 2023 Version

UPDATED March 2023

If you want Kodi on your Amazon Fire Stick or Fire TV then follow the below. The below guide will also work as a fresh install if you’ve never installed Kodi on your Amazon device before.

Let’s get started

First you want to allow your Firestick to be able to install third party apps. Click here for instructions on how to do that

Go to Settings > My Fire TV >

Click on About, Then on the first option “Fire TV Stick”, click OK (middle round button on the remote) 7 times until it says “You are now a developer”)

Click back so you’re back at Settings > My Fire TV and you’ll see a new option “Developer Options”

Click into Developer Options and select “Apps from Unknown Sources”

Next you want to download and install Kodi. Click here for instructions on how to do that.

Now search for “Downloader” and download a free app called Downloader.

Open Downloader and click Allow

Click OK

Click OK in the Box

Type tinyurl.com/kodi20fire into the box and click Go. If you find this link won’t work on your firestick, then repeat this step but put the url as tinyurl.com/kodi20fire32 to install the 32bit Kodi instead

The App will download

Click Install

Once finished you can open Kodi

When you first open Kodi, you'll want to allow third party addons before you install any addons. Click here for details on how to do this.

With Kodi Open, Click the Settings “Gear” Icon

With the setting menu open, click System Setting

With the system settings open, click “Addons” from the left hand menu. (If you can’t see “addons”, make sure you’ve clicked “Advanced” on the bottom left of the menu to enable to Addons settings).
After clicking Addons, click the “Unknown Sources” button so it turns white.

Once you click “Unknown Sources”, a box will pop up ensuring you’re OK to allow third party addons. Just click “OK”
