Season One

The only problems he can’t fix are those involving his damaged South Boston family. Ray’s life is thrown into turmoil when his father Mickey (Jon Voight) unexpectedly gets out of prison five years early and arrives in LA, vowing to take revenge on Ray for framing him.

Meanwhile Bunchy gets nervous about a job interview, Terry obsesses over his ex-girlfriend and Conor lands in hot water after assaulting a classmate.

    Ray forces Mickey to return to LA and brings him to Ed Cochran, who holds a press conference taking full credit for finding and killing Sully Sullivan. However, Kate McPherson, a Boston reporter, doesn’t believe the story and begins to investigate his death. In a desperate bid to control his father Ray corrupts a parole officer and has him take over Mickey’s case.

Kate confronts Ray over the truth about his past, Abby tries to overcome her anxiety for Bridget’s safety, and Mickey starts gathering the team for his robbery.

    Finney tasks Ray with securing information that could bring down the governor and sink the NFL deal, but the mission turns Ray into a wedge between Finney and Paige. Meanwhile, Conor is thrust into a life-changing experience, Mickey and Daryll sell a coke-and-hooker party to a Silicon Valley start-up and Bunchy and Teresa’s relationship finds an unusual release. Plus, with Abby in Boston, it falls on Ray to help Bridget with her scholastic and emotional turmoil.

    It’s Election Day, and with his stake of the NFL team in writing, Ray must take down a rival bidder and ensure Verona’s re-election in order to protect his interests. Plus, on a trip to win back Teresa, Bunchy confides in Romero, and Terry, left alone at the Fite Club, sees signs that the Aryans might be after him.

    With the governor’s loss, Ray’s NFL dreams appear to be over – but he’s not willing to give up. However, in the midst of bribing Fish and Game to approve the stadium’s construction Ray is contacted by Father Romero. Meanwhile, Bunchy, hoping to provide for Teresa, demands his settlement money. When Ray refuses, Bunchy joins Mickey in taking up arms against the Minassians.

    As Ray attempts to force a Finney rival into selling his land, Romero appears at the Fite Club, challenging Ray to repent for his sins. Back in North Hollywood, the Minassians are out for revenge – tempting Mickey to cooperate with the police in exchange for protection. Plus, when a complication involving Varick arises, Finney unexpectedly calls Ray back into his service.

Hopes for a beautiful day are dashed at Terry and Maureen’s wedding as tensions flare between the Donovans and the Dohertys.
