The episode begins with a young woman named Allie (Auli’i Cravalho) attending a concert with her foster brother Tunde (Tunde Adebimpe) in Lagos, Nigeria. During the concert, the power suddenly goes out, and chaos erupts as women begin to use their newfound abilities to fight back against men who had previously held power over them. Allie discovers that she has this power too, and she uses it to defend herself and Tunde against an aggressive man.

Meanwhile, in the United States, we are introduced to a number of characters whose lives are also impacted by this power shift. Margot (Leslie Mann) is a politician running for governor of Illinois who begins to experience strange electrical sensations in her hands. Roxy (Eleanor Tomlinson) is the rebellious daughter of a London crime family who uses her power to intimidate and manipulate those around her. And in Moldova, a young girl named Tatiana (Iris Law) discovers her power while playing with her brother, leading to tragedy.

As the episode progresses, we see how the power shift affects different parts of society. Women begin to use their power to take control, while men feel threatened and try to maintain their dominance. The military is mobilized to contain the situation, leading to violent clashes between men and women.

Overall, the first episode of “The Power” sets up an intriguing premise and introduces a diverse cast of characters with their own unique perspectives on the power shift. It leaves us with many questions about how this world will evolve, and what the future holds for these characters.
